Custom Web Development Services
Custom web development is the process of building a website from the ground up around your business, your users, and your goals instead of adapting a pre-made template. As a custom web development company, Striped Horse handles everything from strategy and design to clean, scalable code, so you get a site that performs exactly the way your business needs it to.
LET’S GET STARTED
Brands we've built for
Our Custom Website Development Services
Every business runs differently, and your website should be built around how yours does. Our custom website development services span everything from lean marketing sites to full web platforms with complex functionality behind them. Whatever you need your site to do, we architect it, build it, and stand behind it.
Custom Website Development
Corporate and marketing websites developed from a blank file, not a theme. Every layout, interaction, and line of code exists because your business needs it, which means nothing slowing the site down and nothing standing between your brand and your visitors.
Custom Web Application Development
Portals, dashboards, booking systems, and interactive platforms that do real work. If your operations have outgrown spreadsheets and off the shelf software, we develop web applications shaped around your workflows and ready to handle more users as you grow.
Custom eCommerce Development
Storefronts engineered for selling, whether that means custom Shopify development or a fully headless build. We focus on the details that move revenue: fast product pages, frictionless checkout, and an architecture that holds up on your biggest sales day.
API Development & Integrations
Most websites live alongside a CRM, a payment processor, an inventory system, and a dozen other tools. We develop the APIs and integrations that make them work as one, eliminating double entry and keeping your data consistent everywhere it lives.
CMS Development & Customization
We extend WordPress, Webflow, Drupal, and other platforms far past what they do out of the box. Custom themes, plugins, and editing experiences give your team full control over content while the underlying build stays fast and secure.
Website Redesign & Migration
An aging site or the wrong platform should never cost you the audience you have built. We plan redirects, preserve your search equity, and move your content methodically, so the new site picks up exactly where the old one left off.
Performance Optimization & Support
Websites decay without attention: plugins age, pages slow, vulnerabilities appear. We keep custom builds sharp with continuous monitoring, updates, and performance tuning, treating your site as a living product rather than a finished project.

Why Choose Striped Horse as Your Custom Web Development Company
You Own Your Code
Everything we build is yours: the codebase, the documentation, the accounts, all of it. There are no proprietary platforms holding your site hostage and no penalty for leaving, which is exactly why clients tend to stay.
One Team From Strategy to Launch
Strategy, design, development, and marketing all happen in house, with the same people in the room from kickoff to go-live. Nothing gets lost in a handoff, and the site that launches is the site that was promised.
Built for Performance & SEO
Custom code carries none of the bloat that themes and page builders drag along. Our builds load fast, score well on Core Web Vitals, and give search engines a clean structure to work with from day one.
Accessibility Baked In
We build to accessibility standards from the first component, not as a retrofit before launch. Your site works for visitors using screen readers and assistive tech, and your business stays ahead of ADA compliance risk.
Most agencies disappear once the invoice clears. We stay on for maintenance, optimization, and whatever your site needs next, because the best custom builds are the ones that keep evolving with the business.
WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
"They're great in every category, and not only the work they do is great, but they are very accommodating and communicative. I was very fortunate to have Danielle leading the web development team-- it was no easy task to take over a year-long project along with a bunch of new devs to work with into a working product in less than two months' time. One of the challenging project-wise for our university website project and she got the team doing good work and managed to get where we need to be. I will continue to work with her!"
"They helped to make our website redesign a success. Danielle was a very quick communicator and patient with our team throughout the entire process. She was knowledgeable and always able to clearly answer my (many!) questions. Our team is very happy with the outcome of our new website. I would recommend Striped Horse to anyone looking for web design services."
I can't say enough good things about working with the Striped Horse team in designing a new website for our Center at Stanford. They were fantastic -- really responsive, creative and solutions-oriented, hard-working and on-the-ball in all aspects of managing and executing a complex project like this. Their rates are quite reasonable given the incredible value you get from the work. And the outcomes are terrific - they created a great-looking, user-friendly site designed to optimize for our goals. My strong recommendation is: do not delay, and try to get the Striped Horse team to work with you on your project! You can't do better, and you won't regret it.
